the weekend :)

this sunday my sister, dad, brother and i ran the white rock half. it was a lot of fun and great weather (though a little overcast) to run the race. i made a goal before i had kids that i wanted to run a half marathon in between each child. my thought process was that it would get me back in shape and running longer distances but doesn't require the time and energy that a full marathon does. i was glad to run the race this sunday, it was perfect timing because . . .

on monday we received this little picture at the doctors office . . .
yes! i am pregnant - due august 1st. we are excited about becoming a family of five :)

this weekend we also had our annual sudan christmas decorating contest.
it was a lot of fun and one of my favorite traditions that we do every year.

the winning cookie - of course made by marybeth the art major :)

the winners - my dad with honorable mention, me in 3rd, jason in 2nd and marybeth in 1st

The Weekend :)

we had a fun halloween day. it was low key and a lot of family time which was super nice! (and amy and i got to run a semi-long run which was so fun and made me excited about the 1/2 marathon we are going to do in a month) jayden and duncan didn't really dress up they just wore their pumpkin shirts that alice got them. they were super cute. i am not really that in to halloween - but apparently a lot of people on our street are - b/c there were tons of decorations for the holiday. i mean - when did it become such a big deal to decorate for halloween? i love pumpkins and fallish decor but the skulls and witches and big scary cats - a little much :) anyway - i digress. we went over to the carona's for pizza and then a candy parade. it was PRECIOUS! the kids walked down this street in their costumes and then people would fill their buckets as they walked by. it was so fun, very family friendly and a great way to see everyone's costumes and enjoy the festivities together. thank you carona's for inviting us to be apart of your neighborhood fun!
it was perfect lighting when we did the candy parade - so i think i got some pretty cute pictures. hope you are having a good week!

The Week

sweet little d - i love him so much!
looking up with those big blue eyes!
i love this expression because it captures him - he has a surprised or worried look on his face most of the time (could it be because he has a 2 year old brother?)
(jordan took this picture and the next and i love them)
so i have become a bit more crafty with all of the crafty friends i have around. magen and i made these banners and i am super proud of it! i think it is so cute and fallish. we both saw a similar banner in the back of pottery barn kids catalog but could not find it online or in the magazine for sale - it was just a decoration - so we were inspired and created our own!
duncan, jayden, emery kate, luke, charlie, felix, felice, sarah, anna, sam
our MP play group - the kids are wearing pumpkin shirts that we made together one night and they all look adorable (don't know how to make this not underlined - sorry)

Baylor Homecoming

Last weekend we went to waco for Baylor's annual Homecoming festivities. Every year we join up with our dear family friends the Forresters and enjoy the many traditions that Baylor Homecoming weekend has to offer. We start friday night with a dinner of "fiesta" at my parents house and then head to the bonfire. Jayden went for the first time to the bonfire and i think was scared to pieces. Fireworks started just as we arrived so he was literally shaking when we got to the bonfire. (i think the large crowd, fireworks, and massive amounts of people did him in)
The next morning we got up early and went to the parade (and stood in our same spot for the past 25 years - in front of penland) and then went to the game. It was Jayden's first real parade and college football game and i think he enjoyed both! It was such a fun time and a great tradition that we look forward to every year.
