Happy Birthday Dad!

happy birthday dad! i hope that you have a wonderful one.
today i want to celebrate you and your life and who you are! you are such a man of integrity and full of the love of God. thank you for being a leader to our family and pointing us to the Father. thank you for taking the time to spend one on one time with each one of us kids. thank you for not controlling our actions but letting us learn. thank you for the way that you love to teach. thank you for the many trips that you took us on growing up (and in just a few weeks :)). i loved seeing more of God's glory through creation and our hiking experiences. thank you for taking the time to be at home - i know it was difficult with starting a new career and the demands of being a physican.
thank you for being a godly father who made it easy to relate to God as our Heavenly Father.

i love you and i am thankful for you! i know it has been a hard year for you (and all of us). but i thank God that we are able to celebrate His goodness despite the circumstances. thank you for being willing to press into God even when it is hard and painful. thank you also for loving our kids so well. it is so fun to see you in your new role as grandfather or better yet "coach." i love the way that you play with jayden and you marvel over the duncan and emery kate. thank you for being an ear to bounce questions and concerns to - and thank you for letting me learn in this whole parenting thing as well.

lastly - thank you for giving us a legacy of love for the Father and His people, love for the family and love of being together. what a great gift you have given us. we thank you for that!
i love you,
christy
*****disclaimer - as i was looking through my pictures to find some to put up here - i realized that my dad and i are usually the ones that are taking the pictures so there are very few of just the two of us. (dad we need to change that!) and i also realized i don't have one of him and duncan together yet. (he probably does but i don't) so i need to change that too!

Duncan (the little peanut) is One Month

yes that is right! our little peanut is one month. i can't believe that he has already been here that long. it has gone by so fast! i think the second time is a lot faster because you don't have time to think about how tired you are - you just have to keep going because the other one wakes up ready to move each morning!
we are so thankful for our two boys! it has been a really good, but busy first month. we are getting use to our new life together. we also are having to be very flexible b/c there is a lot going on here at the house - today there is the loud sound of wood floors being put in - and our mattress is in our living room b/c we had to sleep out there last night to clear out the room so that they could put the floors in.
here our duncan's stats for 1 month:
weight: 8 lbs 5 oz (15%)
length: 20 5/8 inches (20%)
head: 14 1/2 inches (20%)

here are some sweet pictures from our last couple of weeks!

4th of July

We had such a fun 4th of July. I never know what we will be doing on this day because usually jordan is out of the country and there is always a lot going on b/c jayden's bday is the 2nd and mine is the 5th. But this year we were in town and got to have a nice, laid back fun patriotic day! We started the day by going to a neighborhood parade with our friends the Carona's. It was so much fun and reminded me of small town america. All of the kids decorated their bikes and rode around in the parade following the fire truck. The rest of the day was enjoyable with the Ogden family, splash park, neighborhood swim party and ended at dinner at Mi Cocina. We had a great time and I was glad it was relaxing fun time together as a family.

Jayden's 2nd Birthday Party

We celebrated Jayden's 2nd birthday by having a party here at our house with a transportation theme. It was a lot of fun and pretty laid back. The kids decorated wooden transportation vehicles and then had races on their vehicle of choice. It was so cute and all of the kids got into it - except Jayden. (as you can see by the picture!) Everyone raced to the finish line and Jayden just stayed at the starting line watching everyone. It was so funny! Alice told me that Jordan was just like that when he was a little kid. He wanted to take everything in before participating. (they had to bribe him with m&m's when he first started playing soccer).
Enjoy the pics - we had a great time and i think jayden enjoyed it as well!
